Update on Sept. 6 Baca County Crash

We have learned the identities of two individuals who succumbed to their injuries as a result of the four-vehicle fatal crash in Baca County last Wednesday, Sept. 6 at approx. 5:30am.

The driver of the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound on U.S. 287 that moved into the southbound lanes and struck three vehicles heading southbound, 23-year-old Shawn Einhaus of Wichita Falls, TX, was restrained at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Baca County Coroner. The Chevrolet’s passenger, 20-year-old Andrew Blethen of Wichita Falls, TX, was unrestrained at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Baca County Coroner.

All three vehicles heading southbound that were struck by the Chevrolet were Del City, Oklahoma residents, and two occupants of the 2005 Ford Ranger that was struck head on by the Chevrolet, 34-year-old Craig Norberg and 63-year-old Wendy Norberg were killed in the crash.

Drugs and alcohol are not being considered as contributing factors to the crash. This crash remains under investigation at this time.
